Hybrid and remote work are here to stay, and that raises the cost of a breach by $1 million on average, said Elizabeth Harz, CEO of Awareness Technologies and the Veriato workforce behavior analytics platform. It’s a “work from anywhere” world, she said, and the way to get security cooperation from employees is to talk about the inherent risks.
In fact, according to Harz, a survey showed that employees trust technology to monitor them more than they trust people – because they think people might have biases that technology doesn’t have.
In this interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2023, Elizabeth also discusses:
- The need to use a workforce behavior analytics platform such as Veriato to obtain a baseline of employees’ work behaviors
- Breaches that can result from accidental, non-malicious employee behavior – and how making employees aware of such behavior can prevent such incidents
- The advantages of having a trusted partner such as Veriato for sharing best practices and risk-scoring methods
